The Owyhee River in Idaho boasts wild whitewater rafting, incredible scenery, abundant wildlife,
excellent hiking, and a feeling of peace and seclusion that makes it easy to leave the
outside world behind.
Over the years, the river has carved out a deep, narrow chasm in
the sagebrush desert of southwest Idaho.
Thousand-foot sheer walls confine much of the river, and rock falls
from the high cliffs form daunting rapids.
Some parts of the river feel like a miniature Grand Canyon, without
the crowds.
The Owyhee offers a remarkably wide variety of rapids and
scenery. From mild floats to demanding whitewater, narrow gorges to
colorful badlands and sagebrush valleys. Whether you choose the
milder, but beautiful Lower Owyhee, the large rapids and scenery of the
Middle Owyhee, or the technical and remote Upper Owyhee, or combine two or
three sections for a spectacular longer trip, the Owyhee has something
special to offer you.
